Review and give away: Snow White Sorrow by Cameron Jace.

Snow White Sorrow lowEver wondered why Snow White’s mother wanted her to have lips red as blood? Why the Evil Queen really wanted to have her heart? Whose voice it was in the queen’s mirror? Did you ever wonder if the original Brothers Grimm fairy tales were different, or if the story was real and happened in a certain period in history?

What words can I use to describe this book beyond Oh My God!  I first heard about the Grimm Diaries and Cameron Jace through a friend, and after reading The Grim Diaries Prequels I just knew I needed to read Snow White Sorrow when it came out.  And boy, am I glad that I did.   This story takes all the fairy tales we know and love, turns them upside down, shakes them real hard to see what comes out, and then gives us the truth left behind.

Snow White Sorrow, is a twisted work of genius; from page 1 to the final page I had no clue what was going to happen.  And in the moments where I thought I could figure it out, something happened to twist my perspective on things and left me going What?  OMG no!

Snow White Sorrow Opens with Loki Blackstar, yes the Character I told you in a previous review that I was partial to.   A young man whose fighting to find his place in the world.  Confused about his path, uncertain to what his future holds,  Loki sets out to kill The Snow White Princess, in hopes of redeeming himself.  But on his Journey to do so he finds that the world is so much more, then just the black and white store he’s been presented with.

Filled with endearing Characters, Snow Whites Sorrow is almost a twist on your modern coming of age tale,  and that is just the bare bones of this story.    Cameron Jace has created a world, so full of rich, colorful and well thought out characters that when I read the final page, though I was screaming internally, I felt that I had grown, and changed along with Loki, Fable, Axel and the others who have shown up with in these pages.

Snow White Sorrow is definitely a 5 star effort, that I will recommend everyone reads, its not just a fairy tale, but a life lesson waiting to happen.   Cameron Jace has breathed new life into old stories, and I for one am loving what he’s done so far; and will be, not so patiently waiting for his next book.
